WATER RESCUE TEAM
SENIOR DIVER RELEASE PROCEDURE
A senior diver is a diver who has been trained to dive in most any reasonable situation that may arise while on this team. This person should be comfortable and confident in the most basic SCUBA skills and has proven that he has an understanding of water rescue and its special problems. Members who are senior divers should be able and prepared to dive in most any rescue or recovery situation. Members who
are not senior divers will still be utilized, but only in the areas where they have been trained.
To be released as a senior diver you must obtain a total of 40 continuing education points must be spread out into the following categories:
- 20 logged dives (20 points)
- Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) (3 points)
- Rescue Diver (or equivalent) (3 points)
- Dry suit training (3 points)
- Training, calls, and classes (8 points)
- up to 3 points can be from outside sources with approval from the Scuba Sergeant
