The Vehicle Extrication Technician (VEHEXT) Class for 2009 will be held March 13 - 15.

Now in its 18th year, VEHEXT is a basic vehicle rescue course that covers such topics as:

This course is 21 hours in length and meets exceeds NFPA Standard 1670 & VDFP HTR vehicle rescue operations level. We promise that you will leave here worn-out, but ready to perform basic vehicle rescues. There is a $150 fee for the class that covers the cost of the student manual (on CD), 2 lunches and a T-shirt. Class size is limited to the first 50 people who sign up. Be sure to register early since the class is usually full by the end of November. Applications will NOT be accepted after February 15th!

The one pre-requisite is you must have hazardous materials awareness (HMA) certification. You must include a copy of HMA with your application. CARS teaches HMA courses in the spring, summer and fall. Click here for more information on this class.

Please note that we do NOT hold open spots for departments or individuals due to problems we have had in the past. If you want to get into the class, download and fill out the application and send it in asap w/ the required tuition. Only those applications that are fully completed and come with a check will be considered. Sorry, but this is due to problems we have had in the past.
