VEHEXT '97

On March 14 - 16, 1997 CARS held its 6th annual vehicle extrication class known as VEHEXT. VEHEXT is a 24 hour, mostly hands-on course designed to introduce students to the art of vehicle extrication. This year's class had 32 stud ents from 17 different departments with 24 instructors from all over VA & MD. The class is very intensive, and most of this year's students complained of being exhausted by Sunday afternoon. This picture shows several students attempting to remove a door from a car that was involved in a simulated vehicle accident. The instructor looking on is Mike Mattison from Prince George's County Maryland FD. For information on this class, click here.
