SQUAD TRUCK COMMITTEE MEETINGS - 133
Refurbishment of Squad 133
At the August Board of Directors meeting, the President created a committee to oversee the refurbishment of squad 133. The minutes of those meetings will be posted here in the hope that maybe you see something we don't and you will let us know what you think.

Everyone was asked what upgrades they would like to see occur to 133 while it is at the factory. Everyone agreed that the truck should be refurbished while it is up there and the following upgrades were recommended. Additional recommendations can be added, but we must keep the overall cost of the upgrade to $50,000. We will consult with the factory as to the cost of each item, then cut back on the list to what we can afford.
- Remove the 15 Kw hydra-gen and replace it with a 25 - 30 Kw PTO generator. This will free up compartment space as well as doubling the current generating capacity of the truck.
- Add a second Hurst tool reel to the driver's side of the vehicle. This was already planned and can be accomplished much easier at the factory.
- Add a light tower. Either a tilt or mast type depending upon the cost.
- Paint the entire truck, maybe in a different scheme. The orange stripe to be done in Scotchlight.
- Add a 60 amp 220v plug for generator to our trailers.
- Add crossover capability from PTO to diesel generator.
- Add roll-up doors to interior compartments.
- Add an air reel.
- Upgrade alternator from 165 amp to 250 amp.
- Move air horns and fog lights into the bumper.
- Replace tool boards with drop down shelves.
- Add shelving for air bag controllers and move medium pressure bags to an outside compartment.
- Recover storage area in squad bench.
- Add a larger extension ladder.
- Add brackets for tripod lights to rear of truck.
- Move 4x4 boards to compartment under bench.
- Add remote mounted winch.
- Add receivers for remote mounted winch.
- Add directional light bar to rear of truck.
- Replace eye bolts with bigger ones that should carry load of truck and not bend.
- Add underbody lights for illuminating side work areas of truck.
- Add compartments for wheel chocks in wheel wells.
- Have all equipment now carried on deck inside box to compartments.

After almost a year at the factory getting refurbished, our truck is back home. Several committee members will be loading gear back on and doing minor touch-ups. As soon as everything is ready to go, pictures will be taken and posted on the web site. IT SURE LOOKS COOL!
