Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad located in Northern Virginia operates this 1990 Duplex/Saulsbury heavy rescue truck. Squad 15 has a 6v-92 Detroit Diesel engine (350 Hp), 10 man air conditioned cab, communications head sets for all positions and even has a CD player! The capabilities include a 20 Kw PTO generator, 6 bottle high-pressure (6,000 psi) cascade system, a 35' light tower with 10 Kw of lights, complete supplied air breathing apparatus set, complete set of Hurst hydraulic rescue equipment, Paratech high pressure air bags & Hurst low pressure 3-cell air bags. Squad 15 is set up to handle vehicle rescue, confined space rescue, fire suppression, vertical rescue and hazardous materials incidents. Chief of the department is Byron Andrews.
