EMT-ENHANCED

- Peripheral Vein Cannulation

- Needle Pleural Decompression

Demographics:
- Classroom hours = 66
- Clinical hours = 30
- Certification life = 3 years
- Recert requirements = must pass written and practical exam in addition to 36 hours of refresher training. Also, must average 2 IV starts and 10 intubations per month. Skills are checked every 6 months by the pre-hospital ALS staff.
EMT-INTERMEDIATE

- Certification life = 3 years
- Recert requirements = must submit evidence of clinical refresher hours. As of this publication, recert requirements were still being worked on.
